Class B Sprinter RVs — The Most Refined Motorhomes on the Road
A Class B RV is built on a van chassis rather than a bus or truck platform. That distinction matters more than most buyers realize. Class B motorhomes are easier to drive than a full-size RV, fit in standard parking spaces and campground sites, get significantly better fuel economy, and can be used as everyday vehicles when you're not traveling. Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates carries two of the most respected Class B RVs ever built — both on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform, both manufactured by Midwest Automotive Designs in Elkhart, Indiana.
The Midwest Automotive Designs Luxe Cruiser and Passage are not cargo vans with a bed thrown in. They are fully self-contained motorhomes with RVIA Class B certification, onboard water management, solar power systems, lithium battery banks, full galley kitchens, and wet bath configurations. They are also the only Class B RVs built by a manufacturer who holds Mercedes-Benz eXpert Upfitter certification — meaning the full Mercedes-Benz chassis and drivetrain warranty remains intact after the conversion.

Common Questions
Class B Sprinter RV FAQ
What is a Class B RV?
A Class B RV is a motorhome built on a van chassis rather than a bus or truck platform. Class B RVs are more compact and easier to drive than Class A and Class C motorhomes, fit in standard parking spaces and campground sites, and can double as everyday vehicles. The Midwest Automotive Designs Luxe Cruiser and Passage are both RVIA-certified Class B motorhomes built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
Do the Midwest Class B RVs have a bathroom?
Yes. Both the Luxe Cruiser and Passage include a fully enclosed private wet bath with a porcelain toilet, solid surface sink, brushed nickel faucet with handheld spray, and sealed shower walls. Tank heating pads allow year-round cold-weather use. The Sani-Flush system manages tank maintenance automatically.
Can a Class B Sprinter RV connect to campground hookups?
Yes. Both the Luxe Cruiser and Passage include 30-amp shore power connection as standard, allowing full campground hookup at any RV park or campground with 30-amp service. The optional Freedom Package lithium system also supports extended off-grid operation without any hookup.
What is the difference between the Luxe Cruiser and Passage?
The Luxe Cruiser is Midwest's flagship Class B — longer, larger kitchen, higher lithium capacity, and more floor plan options including 6-passenger configurations. The Passage is Midwest's original Class B motorhome, available in a more compact 144-inch wheelbase format that fits tighter parking and campsites. Both are fully self-contained RVIA-certified motorhomes. See our
