He then left Midwest and started over — this time with the financial backing of Forest River and two decades of product development knowledge informing every decision.
The result is OGV Luxury Coach: a company that combines the craftsman expertise of the person who invented the luxury Sprinter conversion category with the manufacturing infrastructure of a major RV corporation. OGV vans are built in Elkhart, Indiana, by the same caliber of craftsmen who built Midwest vans for two decades.

Why Tim Gray's Name on OGV Means Something
The Man Who Invented the Luxury Sprinter Conversion Category
Tim Gray founded Midwest Automotive Designs in 2000 with the first two models in the category — the Business Class and the Weekender. He was there for the debut at the 2001 SEMA Show. He oversaw Midwest's growth into the definitive luxury Sprinter brand, including the development of the Freedom Package lithium system, the Luxe Cruiser, the Passage, the G Series, and the Athletic Series. He oversaw the production of over 20,000 vans. He was there when Midwest became the first Quality Approved upfitter for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in the United States.
When Tim Gray left Midwest and partnered with Forest River to found OGV, he brought all of that institutional knowledge into a new brand built from scratch with better financial backing and no legacy constraints. OGV is not a startup trying to break into a market Tim Gray already defined. It is the original pioneer applying 25 years of experience to a completely fresh build with Forest River's manufacturing infrastructure behind every van.
