The Class B sleeping and living configuration is optimized for two people. A Class A's extra space goes unused for couples, while the operating costs remain the same. The Sprinter gives you everything two people need at a fraction of the fuel cost.
A 40-foot Class A simply cannot navigate city streets, park in downtown areas, or access many national park campsites. The Sprinter parks in a standard parking space and accesses virtually every destination a car can reach.
The Luxe Cruiser and Passage drive and handle like luxury vans, not buses. Owners use them as daily drivers, airport vehicles, and weekend trip vehicles when not on extended travel. A Class A sits unused between trips.
At 20-25 MPG, a Sprinter Class B costs roughly half to one-third as much per mile in fuel as a typical Class A. On a 10,000-mile annual usage pattern, the fuel savings alone can exceed $3,000-$5,000 per year.
If you plan to live in the vehicle year-round as a primary residence, a Class A offers meaningfully more living space, larger kitchen and bathroom, and residential-scale slide-outs that create a genuinely larger interior. For short and extended trips, the Class B is sufficient for most couples. For true full-timers with a lot of possessions, Class A has real advantages.
The Luxe Cruiser seats up to 6 and the Passage seats up to 7 on the MD4 floor plan. If you regularly travel with more than 4 passengers who also need sleeping accommodations, a Class A with multiple slide-outs and sleeping areas has structural advantages the Sprinter cannot match.
