Add that to the twin-scrolling turbo inline six-cylinder engine, and you get 429 horsepower that propels you from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. A multimode exhaust system uses dynamic performance exhaust flaps to tune the GLE’s exhaust notes from a stealthy purr to a healthy roar.

AMG® GLE 63 S Coupe

The AMG® GLE 63 S Coupe’s muscular body holds a versatile, spacious, and indulgent cabin with desirable innovative features. The car responds to your natural voice and intuitive touch. Premium materials, including nappa leather, refined trim flourishes, and an AMG® Performance steering wheel, provide comfort and sporty appeal.

Customization Options

Stylish alloy wheels range from 19 to 22 inches, depending on your trim. The standard cabin has two rows to seat five; you can add a third row for up to seven people. An optional four-zone climate control system keeps everyone comfortable.

Mercedes-Benz offers up to 10 option packages depending on the GLE model, so you can find one to suit any desire. The AMG® Line Exterior and Night Package options add exclusive exterior flourishes. Opting for the AMG® Line Interior package gets you luxurious nappa leather sport seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel.

Performance and Efficiency

Every GLE model has an intelligent AWD system that distributes torque automatically as needed. For example, the system splits torque 50-50 between the front and rear when determining the need for traction, but it can send all the power to the rear wheels when cruising at highway speeds.

You get the Dynamic Select drive mode system that dials in your GLE’s performance. Modes range from ECO to Sport, and an Individual mode lets you customize based on your driving style. These modes vary the throttle response, shifting, and suspension systems to match your mood or driving conditions.

The inline four-cylinder powertrain gets the best mileage, rating at up to 27 mpg on the highway. We expect better from the plug-in hybrid, but ratings are unavailable. The six-cylinder dips to 26 mpg on the GLE 450 4MATIC®, while the GLE 580 4MATIC®’s thirsty V-8 drops to 20 mpg.
