Mercedes-Benz Plans to Up Production in 2012

We here at  the Mercedes-Benz in Hoffman Estates knew the Mercedes-Benz brand was doing well in the troublesome financial market, but we were pleasantly surprised to hear that the company has plans to increase its output by 13 percent in 2012. That's right, readers, while other brands continue to struggle, the tried-and-true, reliable Mercedes-Benz franchise sits on top.

This 13 percent increase will move the automaker's output to more than 1.4 million passenger vehicles. (This number excludes commercial vehicles, Maybach cars, and Smart mini-vehicles). The Maybach brand will soon be phased out altogether, but Smart is still going strong, so with these figures, the number would be a good bit higher- around 1.52 million vehicles in 2012 and then about 1.67 million in the year 2013- according to Automotive News Europe. The 2011 figures should add up to more than 1.25 million Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a record for the company, and the automaker continues to produce at almost-full capacity to keep up with strong demand from the market.
